Why Sarah’s Challenge supports the Friends & Angels: The Tracy Vicere Foundation

When Sarah wanted to help “Charity”, she didn’t have a specific cause to champion. There were several options that could have been supported that have direct family connections, but Sarah wanted to help other kids.

Through camp, Sarah knew the Vicere family who have a charitable foundation that not only helps kids, but local kids (and their families) that are fighting cancer.  Although Sarah only understood that the kids were “very sick” the idea of making them happy, giving them games and toys was a perfect match.

Friends and Angels: The Tracy Vicere Foundation supports the Hematology/Oncology Division of Cohen Children’s Medical Center. The story behind Tracy Vicere is inspiring, having been a supportive sibling to a sister diagnosed with cancer, Tracy discovered she too had cancer, in fact two distinct forms of cancer (simultaneously) at just 16 years old. She not only survived, but has thrived, and now through her foundation helps other children’s battles with cancer at little easier. The foundation’s mission: improve the quality of life of children battling this horrible disease.
